This is my first recording with the POD HD500. At the time of this video (March 6th, 2012) I've had my HD500 for about 2-3 weeks. At first I struggled with getting the tone I wanted, then it dawned on me to use the same amp/cabinet and settings I had used with my POD XT Live (freakin' duh!!) Once I did that I was able to quickly dial in some solid metal rhythm and lead tones.

I'm using the Treadplate amp (modeled after the Mesa Dual) and cabinet with the 67 condenser mic for my lead and left-panned rhythm tracks, and the 421 mic for my right-panned rhythm track.

At this time I'm still holding on to my POD XT Live; perhaps it's sentimental or the fact that I've spent relentless hours programming it and tweaking my tones. However, I've come to quickly find that the HD500 does everything I need it to and then some. So on that note (no pun intended), I'm happy with the HD500.
