Has been neglected for years after a hard life but always stored in my garage. Have rebuild to manufactures specifications or better over a 7 day period. Dismantled everything except the internal engine components (piston, cylinder head, connecting rod and crank).
Polished the piston head surface, new: spark plug (NGK BM6F), change air filter design to increase airflow, exhaust gasket, fuel lines and filter, bubble primer, regreased and oiled ALL moving parts. Port and polished the outlet port, fully cleaned and polished the exhaust box baffles and increased the outlet pipe size to match the outlet port size.

Use 95% Octane fuel, 2 stroke oil (Echo Power BlendX) at a ratio of 40:1 plus Nulon Upper Cylinder additive for increased performance.
Upgrades: Trimming head as original was broken. Replaced with Super Snipper by The 2 Terrys (http://www.the2terrys.com/supersnippe...). Installed tubes on Carby L/H & Idle adjustments screws.
After final fine tune results are:
RPM @ idle=1700 @ full throttle=9000
Max HP = 1.9
Massive increase in torque and runs with minimum exhaust fumes. Burns exceptionally clean with limited evidence of smoke and sounds very sharp and crisp. No hesitation at any RPM.
Footnote: Whilst this model is superseded, parts were easy to purchase from the local retail outlets. The quality of material, machining and design of this unit is very high.
