As a special promotion for the August Wilson Center's season opening presentation of the Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra, Sean Jones (trumpeter and artistic director) and Thomas Wendt (drums) did an impromptu performance on The Center's patio. With the Downtown lunchtime crowd as their audience, Jones and Wendt had a little fun with passers-by.

A rousing performance by the Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra (PJO) opens the performance season celebrating African American men and boys. The concert showcases the music of two local legends: Billy Strayhorn and Mary Lou Williams. On exhibit this evening will be the captivating work of Frank Stewart, an award-winning, New York-based photographer whose work as been on display around the world.
