OUTDOOR RETAILER WINTER 2013:

I spoke with an old friend, Brandon Carlile, about Arcteryx's new line of down jackets coming Fall 2013: the Cerium LT and Thorium AR.

- Composite construction uses Coreloft (synthetic) in areas that are most exposed to moisture (face, shoulders, forearms- and on the AR, the entire hood)
- SUPER light, while still very durable and functional- (such as the higher denier fabric [the LT's fabric is a lot like the Patagonia UL hoody's material and the AWESOME hood is like a patagonia down sweater/Atom LT hybrid... )
- Pack into themselves with an "removable" built-in stuff sack
- Articulated arms.

Cerium LT jacket ($299)- 240 grams
Cerium LT hoody ($350)- 278 grams
Thorium AR jacket ($265)- 345 grams
Thorium AR Hoody ($285)- 380 grams

(such as the higher denier fabric [the LT's fabric is a lot like the Patagonia UL hoody's material, but supposedly stronger than anything else currently on the market for it's weight] and the AWESOME hood [kind of a patagonia down sweater/Atom LT hybrid... it doesn't put any pressure the ears really...)
