(c)1989 NBC--Comcast; NFL

Part two.

Host: Bob Costas
Analyst: Don Shula (who was pretty much a part-time NBC employee during the late 1980s considering the Dolphins' 1986-89 playoff drought)
Reporters: Paul Maguire (49ers); Gayle Gardner (Bengals); Jim Gray (roving)
Talent Challenge (from Miami Seaquarium): Ahmad Rashad and John Candy (who had taken a break from shooting the movie "Uncle Buck" alongside future Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin to participate in this event)

1. Introduction of Diet Pepsi NFL Talent Challenge (Rashad/Candy; talent competition for the NFL players; cuts off just before the event by Los Angeles Rams wideout Mike Young)
2. Quarterback Comparison (Shula/Costas/Maguire; discusses some of the different styles with Joe Montana and Boomer Esiason)
3. Max McGee (Gardner; interview with Green Bay Packers receiver Max McGee and what happened since; most notably his eldest son Maxwell's struggles with Down's Syndrome as well as references to his business career...most notably his involvement with now-defunct Mexican chain Chi-Chi's; includes interviews with guard Jerry Kramer, wife Denise and halfback/roommate/fellow night-owl Paul Hornung)
4. Advertising (Costas; references Apple's famous 1984 ad as well as the 1986 Timex spot as well as the Diet Coke 3-D spot that aired at halftime; interviews with Apple Marketing/Communications director Bruce Mowery, Timex Sales and Marketing VP Michael Jacobi and Coca-Cola advertising VP Michael Beindorff. After the piece, Bob references the "silent minute" idea cooked up by executive producer Michael Weisman that had them going black near the end of the pregame show for Super Bowl XX so that the viewers could do something like grab a snack, stretch, make a quick stop to the bathroom, etc.,)
