Highlights of 08 NFR Calf Roping

This is my tribute to the 2008 National Finals Rodeo calf ropers. I went to Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo this past July. The rodeo which bears the brunt of controversy from the naysayers like no other. I was inspired by what the announcer said, "rodeo is our tradition and we don't apologize for it." It made a lot of sense. I said then why did they change name of this event to tie-down roping as an attempt to avoid controversy. I say change the name back to CALF ROPING and don't apologize for it. Controversy is all around us and inescapable. Stop bowing to them and let them wallow in their ignorance. Hold true to the rodeo tradition.
