This video shows a portion of a humanitarian outreach to the Central Pacific's Banaba Island in the Republic of Kiribati, This outreach was made in November 2013 by the 19 member T33A amateur radio Dxpedition to this rarely visited island. The primary school children received a full reading curriculum, school supplies and all the school children received dental health instructions along with dental home care supplies. The team also supplied soccer balls and shoes for the children. A school flag/banner exchange was made with an elementary school in Fontana California through team co-leader Jay Kobelin (radio operator W2IJ) Team member Dr. Jay Garlitz DMD, (radio operator AA4FL) of Florida helped over 65 patients out of pain. Services included the removal of 165 teeth and preventive care. 20% of the population received dental services, In addition the T33A team also worked on Radio equipment at the local medical clinic, a HF radio was installed on an inter-island boat and computers of the locals repaired.

The T33A Dxpedition brought Banaba to the world...making over 88,000 radio contacts with 26,000 plus hams world-wide during a 13 day stay. Many new friends were made both on the island and world-wide!
