What is the difference between Basic and Advanced mode?
It is all about user interface. Basic presents a very small interface, with the bare minimum of controls required for day to day use. Advanced presents all of the controls. The idea is that you can use the Advanced interface to setup or change this preset to your liking, and then switch back to basic if you would prefer to look at a smaller, clean UI for your recordings.
Basic is also the default when the app is first started, because we wanted to present a UI that was not intimidating for new users.
How does it work? Basic is just a preset, like any other preset. It is the preset you see marked as 'basic' when you are in Advanced. When you switch to Basic, this preset is selected automatically.
This means you can use settings on the advanced tab and the basic tab together. Setup any advanced options like visualization, audio, watermarks and so on, and then switch to basic.
Can I change it? Yes. You can make another preset the 'basic' preset simply by right clicking any preset in the list, and choosing 'Use as basic preset'.
