Probabilistic Fractal

The Probabilistic Fractal Statlet is designed to demonstrate several concepts that students in introductory courses on probability and statistics need to understand. The first concept is that simple mechanisms, particularly those with a stochastic element, can generate apparently complex outcomes. Second, different realizations generated by the same stochastic process can be dramatically different. Third, the extent of the variation amongst those realizations is proportional to the magnitude of the random components.
