New Happiness is a band from Oakland, California who were around for about two months in the fall of 2012, playing a total of three shows. The day after the band had officially and excitedly decided to start working on music together again, three of them were bonding over the fumes of staining a fence at a work party at the BBCRC. Somehow they decided to jump onto the boxcar show that night borrowing St. Lorena's gear, even though enola had a terrible cough/throat thing, Mikey was not there, and the group had not played music together for seven months. [Though Brian had been working on mixing their recordings and was listening to the songs a little too closely, a little too often at the time.]

Mikey showed up miraculously and unexpectedly at the last minute, prompting Kevin to "go find some junk in the shed" to use for drums so Mikey could play St. Lorena's drumset. Ideally the bass is more prominent and there is a keyboard in there, too. enola's voice held out [mostly] for these three songs:

1. She Will Never Be Free
2. Ugly Voices
3. Castle Silence

Filmed by Sweet Potato. Thanks dawggie.
