On June 25, 2015, Sonic Runners finally got its worldwide release after being in a soft launch state for roughly 4 months. The soft launch was only accessible to those who had access to the Canadian or Japanese app stores (which anyone could access with the appropriate means). With that being said, I've been playing the game since it was first launched on my Samsung Galaxy S5, and was anticipating the worldwide release. To my disappointment, and that of many others, with the worldwide release of Sonic Runners came many compatibility issues with said game on many devices. I too was affected by the same problem that many others face, that being the game crashing at the SEGA logo upon opening. Apparently, the issue seems to stem from having any access whatsoever to the internet, as the video goes into detail about.

IF YOU INTEND TO DO ANYTHING LIKE THIS WITH YOUR DEVICE, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND BACKING UP YOUR DATA IN SOME WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM IN THE EVENT THAT SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS.

Whatever the issue may be with this game, I sincerely hope this gets remedied and fast. The fact that this game had a soft launch for 4 months and then gets something like THIS on release day is not a good look whatsoever. I hope this video provides some insight and/or clarity on what people have been experiencing, as well as ideas on a possible workaround for this unfortunate incident.
