Transcript Notes:

Welcome to my blog.
You may or may not be wondering who the heck is this guy, and why should I care? The truth is, you don't have to, but I'm going to put my value out there, and if you don't like, feel free to send it right back.
I am all about this place, Tahoe, and the lifestyle and business culture Tahoe affords. I believe in a way of life my family calls "Blue Blazing." Blue Blazing is a commitment to life in the slow lane from time to time; to focus on quality instead of quantity in life. The term "Blue Blaze" comes from backpacking the scenic routes on the Appellation Trail back East. Some people might call Blue Blazing Mindfulness. For me it's one in the same: a focus in the present and enjoyment of your surroundings.
So why does this matter? Well because I am committed to much more than a one-dimensional MBA-spreadsheet approach to business. I don't live in theory; I thrive in the richness of experience.
I've had the entrepreneurial bug ever since I was a kid, removing snow from driveways and fixing neighbors' computers by age 10. When I finished my undergrad in Engineering at Cornell University in 2007, I immediately moved back west in pursuit of outdoor adventure and entrepreneurial opportunities.
In 2010 I found one of those opportunities and spent the next two years building up a renewable energy installation company in Reno. In 2011 my efforts were recognized when I accepted the Green Technology Company of the Year award from the Nevada Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology. This recent recognition is just one example of the results I have experienced from a dedication to my principles.
As you will find in browsing my blog, I am a catalyst for dedication, hard work, and success in business. With any new challenge, I, like all people, don't always know the how, but I know I can. I live for challenges, I enjoy life and I value hard-working, caring and passionate people. I believe in leadership by example, success through collaborative teamwork, learning by being thrown in the fire, and ultimately mindful contemplation followed by focused action.
My perspective gives priority to health and wellbeing, recreation, and appreciation for nature as much as hard work; not to mention going 100% when its go time.
My aim is to provide great value with creative solutions. I have a vision for the future with my own non-profit organization that creates valuable, sustainable, and profitable businesses. I've had my share of success already at 27, but I am looking forward to the opportunities ahead. Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog, and watch my video at DanHerr.com. I hope you will find my blog valuable in helping you Blue Blaze and I welcome your feedback and involvement in the conversation.
