I'll say it again;  great song, great writing. Love coming back to the original version after  growing up listening to the Kiss recording. As a kid, I found the chord changes to be quite mysterious and very intriguing, and I still do, to this day. What a great contribution you've made. Best wishes.

I think this song is so amazing! I know that it doesn't sound like KISS expected to sound, but it has something that I can't explain! The lyrics are very beautifull. It touches our hearts through the powerfull melody. It's a love song. I must say it's powerfull in many ways. Paul Stanley thinks it was a disaster when he sang this one, but I must desagree. Like I said, it doesn't sound like KISS (Almost nothing in "The Elder" sounds like KISS, but I think it doesn't matter, because it's a great and well recorded album, with very good compositions, just different from what people were and still used with KISS). But this original version from Tony Powers shows how great this song is and KISS' fans should know it! I congratulate Tony for this! The whole structure, the arrangement and his single way to sing it. I really like! Here in Brazil, we have a famous singer, Milton Nascimento. After listened this version, I close my eyes and I can imagine him singing. Would be great!

I find it amazing that this song was re-recorded on the Elder album by Kiss and it fits perfectly in the narrative of the album. It's a testament to the quality of the lyrics. Congratulations on this beautiful song!
