We finally had our own "Beer Week" here in the Capital District... sort of. "Saratoga Beer Week" was held February 23-25 with a bunch of events happening over the three days. Unfortunately, this was the only event I could attend.
I actually didn't know what this "Beer Summit" was going to be until I got there - a pretty big indoor beer fest. There were about 83 breweries represented with well over 150 different beers to sample. Admission was only $20 - which is a great price for a beer festival - but it only included four tasting tokens. I thought that was pretty lame since you're paying $5 for a 4oz sample (although you could buy more for $2 each).
Still, there was a surprising amount of beers available on cask and some tap-only brews being poured. A few of the brewers even came out themselves to serve and talk about the beer, and you'll see me meet a few of them.
Definitely a fun way to spend a Saturday night!
