Back Carry -
This position is for babies that are 12 months and up and are co-operative in the sling. It is useful for when you are doing something you need to keep out of baby's reach. Start with the rings on your back with the sling as snug as if baby were in it. Place your toddler securely in the hip carry and pull the fabric right up to their shoulders. Ensure you have a tight sling and that babies knees are higher than their bottom. Lift your arm up and over their head while you carefully slide them to your back. The rings will slide to be in the corsage position just below your shoulder. Adjust the tail as need to tighten the sling and check in a mirror that baby is seated securely. If at any time your baby is not happy in the back carry please do not use it as you can not put your hands on them as easily as in the front carries to secure them. Make sure the sling is spread out evenly on your shoulder and baby is securely tucked into the pouch of the sling. www.sewfunky.ca
