This is a short video of the home that my mother grew up at in Hacker Valley. The home is situated in Webster County, West Virginia. It is very near Holly River State Park and includes video of the upper and middle water falls that is now maintained by the state. The same river that runs over the falls runs right in front of the Cowger home known by family as the "farm".

The house was built around 1904. The Vance school house which is a one room school house is also on the Cowger property and was built in the late 1800's.

When the "farm" was in full swing, there were hay fields, livestock, a grits mill, a blacksmith shop and a timber mill on the property.

Also in the video are great shots of a large number of deer grazing in the meadow.

Take a few minutes from the daily drag to enjoy the simpler things in life.

Thanks for watching.
