Director: Anthony Barkworth-Knight Director Comments: "I began research into images and videos relating to photography and pretty soon an aesthetic came about based on very early photography. Using pencil, charcoals, craft knives and digital photograph I began to build a composite that would act as a backdrop to the video. On top of this, the main focus of the video was the ever evolving line, much as the story in the track unfolds. The central idea of which was to allude to possible figurative elements while always remaining entirely abstract. After some test sketches I began work drawing out the frames using pencil on paper, frame by frame. Each frame is traced from the one before using a light box with keyframes acting trigger points as to help the line grow resulting in around 2,500 frames. Additional elements were added and edited in afterwards but the central drive of the piece was to keep the minimal feel of the piece, never allowing background and secondary elements to steal the centre stage from the line. Once edited a final touch was added in the form of an old photograph fading into and then out of view at the end."
