Candice Ransom, who has published 110 books for children and young adults and whose work has been recognized by "The New York Times," the New York Public Library, and the Smithsonian, was the featured speaker at Hollins University's annual Founder's Day convocation on February 16, 2012. Ransom, who earned her M.A. in children's literature from Hollins in 2007, discussed the life and work of Margaret Wise Brown, one of America's best-loved children's authors and a Hollins graduate. Hollins is celebrating Brown's legacy with a yearlong festival that continues through the summer of 2012.
