http://www.techlicious.com/review/ace... The new Acer Iconia Tab A500 is one a slew of Android devices aiming to find its niche in a world currently dominated by the Apple iPad 2. What sets the Iconia Tab apart from its competition is primarily its price—at $449 for a 16GB Wi-Fi version, it's $50 cheaper than that iPad 2. That makes it an option for those looking for an Android tablet on a budget, but not enough of a break to sway many people away from the iPad 2.
Should you buy it? It's hard to strongly recommend any Android tablets right now. There are still too few tablet specific apps available (though there are plenty of standard apps) and Android Honeycomb 3.0 has some bugs and quirks that need to be ironed out. But the web browsing experience is far better than on the iPad 2 and, in the case of the Acer Iconia Tab A500, you can save $50 over a comparably equipped iPad 2. And I'll bet money that the price of the Iconia Tab will be coming down even further in the next few months.
So, if you want an Android tablet right now, the Iconia Tab offers a solid budget option over the Motorola Xoom. Though those looking for the best experience should wait until the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 launches early this summer. Rating: Neutral
