I have a lathe now and I wanted to try an easy and quick DIY project for the lathe. So I decided to make and aluminum Sharpie. There are commercial aluminum sharpie out there but they are pens, non actual good old sharpie marker. So I decided to make my own aluminum sharpie.
The aluminum rod was scavenged from an old laser printer. I actually tried to use the laser engraver to engrave the Sharpie logo on it but for some reason it didn't work at all... I guess was becouse it was too polished and the laser bounced off... can it be?
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this easy lathe diy project, it took me 3 hour to make, mostly because I had get to know my new lathe but it's been really a fun project to begin with!
