For more jamboree info, go to http://bsajamboree.org. The deal is this: You sign up for the 2013 National Scout Jamboree, and we provide pretty mich everything you see in this video.

That's a lot of stuff.

Let's start with location, though. for the first time ever, the jambo is coming to the Summit Bechtel Reserve. It's more than 10,000 acres of Scouting goodness in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains in West Virginia.

That's like a five hour drive from D.C. Four from Cincinnati. Three from Pittsburgh.

So, it's close to the majority of the Scouting population. And if you live out west? Amtrak comes to our doorstep (though all of the planes, trains and automobiles options apply).

Oh, and you need to know when the jambo is. It's going to be July 15-24, 2013. If you want to be on staff, you can even sign up for 1/2 the event.

First time ever for that one, too.

Now, lets get down to activities. All of your old favorites from jamborees of the past, like patch trading and pioneering, just to name a few, will *still* be a big part of the event. Shooting. Archery. You know the ones we're talking about.

But there's a ton of new stuff.

Mountain biking. BMX. Skateboarding. Rock climbing. Whitewater (or white water, if you prefer) rafting. Whitewater kayaking. Zip lines.

Did someone say zip lines?

And, really, that's just the beginning. There will be some incredible stadium shows and amazing guests and fellowship and ...

Oh, and Venturing!

For the first time ever (that's becoming a theme, here) Venturers will be part of the national Scout jamboree. We couldn't be more excited to have girls and boys from every reach of Scouting, all together at Scouting's biggest showcase.

Sounds good, right?

So here's what you need to do:

1) Go to http://summit.scouting.org and start the sign up process.

2) Follow the steps provided there. They lead you to your local council.

3) Finish registering with your local council. Now you're all set.

Ok, now watch the video again. Think about all that cool stuff you see, and imagine yourself there. Get ready to go big. Prepare to get wild. It's coming ...

See you at the 2013 National Scout Jamboree.
