Esther Horne was the great great granddaughter of Sacajawea, the Shoshone Indian who guided Lewis and Clark on their famous expedition in 1805. Horne was a teacher at Circle of Nations School in Wahpeton, North Dakota for 35 years. She revived study of traditional culture.
