Rust is completely plagued with hackers, as discussed in this video. In one day alone we encountered 8 hackers on an official server (NA4), including one (tacticalasshole aka ShoSho10199) that runs a Youtube channel of nearly 130k subscribers. He and his buddies sought out to and succeeded in destroying everything we had accomplished, all because we managed to trap and kill another hacker friend of his. It turns out that they work as a group, all cheating, and pool their resources together to build a mega complex of towers on the map.

The video showing ShoSho playing with Deatharrows (6 minutes in):

Unfortunately we have not been able to pinpoint Vladimir Putin or Ed's steam profiles. ShoSho had all of the guys listed above on his friends list until he was confronted on Twitter, at which point he began removing people to hide their identities.

The hacks that these guys use allow them to get rid of recoil, auto-aim, see through walls (including inside objects contained within structures), fly around the map like superman, jump several stories into the air, and run several times the normal speed.

Those primarily affected by the raids in this video, including myself, were:

ShoSho and his friends were unbelievably malicious in their attacks, and chose to destroy literally everything we had. Not only that, but they then found the new bases we established, and destroyed those too (not shown in this video). They called us racial slurs and other hate filled words, and have also been making threats against us since we expressed that we will be sharing this video.

ShoSho claimed several times the night of the raid that he recorded his perspective, but refuses to share it, even though he insists he was not hacking. His friends also deny that they are hacking, even after they've been seen doing so for weeks, and have even been captured in video (- for example flying around, jajajaja aimbotting everyone at the airdrop, and the 4 raiders (Vladimir Putin, Ed, tacticalasshole, and -) aimbotting us consistently at our house.

In the past two weeks of playing on North America 4 we have seen these guys camp the airdrops and player hotspots each and every day. We suspected that they were collaborating from the start, as there were certain people they'd often go around with, and we caught them dropping things off to someone once as well just before being killed. It turns out that they were all working together to build the towers shown at the start of the video, and they have kept 99% of the NA4 playerbase from advancing to any significant tech at all. Explosives have also been unavailable as well, because they fly to and camp every single airdrop.

This is a serious problem that needs to be addressed with some level of priority. VAC bans need to happen more frequently, or a new / complimentary anti-cheat solution needs to be implemented.
