A Red Red Rose (Live at Pearl's) sung by Eva Cassidy on September 14, 1994. Pearl's was the name of a small restaurant in Annapolis, Maryland where Eva performed a number of times. The lyrics of this song were written by the famous Scottish poet, Robert Burns.

This is one of my favorite songs by Eva. You will hear a few words by Eva interacting with the audience before she begins singing this glorious, lovely ballad.

The complete lyrics are as follows:

A Red Red Rose
(lyrics written by Robert Burns)

My love is like a red red rose
That's newly sprung in June
My love is like a melody
So sweetly played in tune

As fair thou art my bonnie lad
So deep in love am I
And I will love thee still my dear
Though all the seas gone dry

Though all the seas gone dry my dear
And the rocks melt with the sun
I would love thee still my dear
Though the sands of time be run

So fare thee well my bonnie lad
And fare thee well a while
And I would come to you again
Though it were ten thousand miles

Though it were ten thousand miles my dear
Though it were ten thousand miles
I would come to you again
Though it were ten thousand miles
