Her name is Haley and she is a 2 year old Labrador retriever. She had knee surgery to fix a luxating patella (dislocating kneecap) and participated in rehabilitation exercises to rebuild her muscle, maintain range of motion, improve healing time and to promote proper use of her rear leg. The Underwater treadmill helps to take off nearly 38% of her body weight allowing her to exercise in a buoyant environment, thus placing less stress on her joints. Underwater treadmill therapy also allowed her to build muscle through water resistance and variations in treadmill belt speed. Nearly every dog enjoys the Underwater Treadmill, even if they "don't like water" and there are many more conditions that can benefit from Underwater Treadmill therapy besides recovery from a knee surgery. ****Please join the Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening of the Animal Wellness Center, 506 4th Street in San Rafael on November 12th from 1-3:30PM
