So I just came back from an amazing NLP or Neuro Linguistic Programming event down here in Southern California. The event was set up by the Empowerment Partnership of Kona University.

The NLP event was 4 packed full of valuable information days! I learned so much. From Anchoring to building Rapport! I couldn't share all of the knowledge that I obtained on this one video, but throughout my next videos you will see me using some of the techniques.

Before I give you the overview of the video, I want to give you my definition of NLP for those of you that are not familiar with it. Neuro Linguistic Programming is a set of tools and techniques to help you better communicate with yourself and with others in an ecological manner.

To explain that a little bit more, Here are my top 5 takeaways from the NLP event:

1. Anchoring- This is a powerful technique to help you attach feelings or emotions to anything that you want, so that you can later retrieve them whenever you wish to do so. Kind of like a song. Whenever you hear a particular song, it brings back emotions and feelings of some events or person.

2. Rapport- Rapport pretty much is you being cool with someone either consciously or unconsciously. One of the easiest way to build rapport with someone is by Smiling and having them smile back at you. Why? Because Phisiology is pretty much 55% of all communication. Followed by voice tonality and lastly the words that you use.

3. Metaphors- The unconscious mind remembers vivid and descriptive cinematic motion pictures. Tell more metaphors and stories to people to relay information to them, so that their unconscious mind picks it up much more easily.

4. Strategies- This has to do particularly with your purchasing decisions. How and you buy the things that you buy. I Found out that in order for anyone to sell me anything, they must first visually present the item to me, then I must have a feel for the item (internally or externally), finally I must then get some Aditory Digital information or factual data.

5. Chunking- This pretty much involves getting either specific with something (Chucking Down/Milton Model), or taking something specific and going up to a much more general aspect of that thing (Chunking Up/ Meta Model)

That's it.. Of course I did take out a lot more valuable information from the event. Such as Swish patterns, Mapping across, submodalities, presuppositions, language patterns, and the list goes on.
