General Anthony McAuliffe describes the valuable contribution of the 10th Armored Division's Combat Command B as they stood as the early defenders of Bastogne during WWII's Battle of the Bulge. McAuliffe was the commander of the 101st Airborne and attached U.S. troops as they defended Bastogne during the battle. The key contribution of the 10th Armored's Combat Command B during the battle has not been well known over the years, while the 101st Airborne has received most of the recognition for Bastogne's defense. The statements by Gen. McAuliffe serve to rectify this oversight and to give the soldiers of the 10th Armored "Tigers" the credit and respect that they deserve for their sacrifices during the battle.
