http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com Dragons, dragons everywhere on Rinca Island. Travels With Sheila considers sighting 10 Komodo Dragons more than enough. Most were hanging around the kitchen, drawn by the smell of blood but Rinca Island dragons are not fed by the staff. The Komodo dragon's long forked tongue gives it a keen sense of smell. They can smell prey from around 8km/5 miles away in a favorable wind.
It's difficult to spot dragons during rainy season because the foliage is so high. But...one "greeter" lurked on the walk back to the boat and then the guide spotted another, perfectly concealed in the brush next to the trail.
