Chamber Opera by Edward Lambert Presented by The Music Troupe of London in May 2014 Directed by Ian Caddy
Text adapted from the play by Pirandello
Mark Beesley (bass) as the Father Lindsay Bramley (mezzo-soprano) as the Mother Olivia Clarke (soprano) as the Daughter Sheridan Edward (tenor) as the Son and Madame Pace Jon Stainsby (baritone) as the Director with Joseph Shiner (clarinet) directed by Ian Caddy
The first performances of this new chamber opera lasting about 60 minutes. Six characters in period costume gatecrash a theatre determined to stage their own drama - but first they need to convince the Director that it’s all for real. We are drawn into a tragic tale of passion, incest and killing worthy of any grand opera while the torments that afflict the family are lived through yet again - with results that are poignant but absurd. A wonderful cast of singer/actors brings this confusion vividly to life. http://www.musictroupe.co.uk
