Skills such as eye contact, response to name call, gaze shifts, pointing, gestures, sitting tolerance, attention are critical to a baby's development. They are foundation skills on which babies develop other skills such as speech, academics, socialization etc.
Absence/inadequate development of skills such as pointing , joint attention, eye contact, response to name etc warrant a developmental evaluation, as they are high risk for Autism.
Children with Autism often have weak/underdeveloped Pre Learning Skills (PLS). Our experience at Com DEALL has taught us that a strong foundation in these skills is critical to the succesful mainstreaming of children. This video takes you through the various PLS skills that typically growing children exhibit in the first year of their lives.Watch the video to appreciate the extent to which babies can interact and communicate even before they can speak.
