Tako Poke preparations at Community Harvest Hawaii.
Community Harvest Hawaii takes an idea intrinsic in Hawaiian culture—that of preparing and sharing food together—and creates a process that makes use of excess food in our community that is literally falling from the trees!
Community Harvest Hawaii is helping to build a local, sustainable food system in North Kohala and is a project of the North Kohala Community Resource Center and a partnership between the North Kohala Eat Locally Grown Campaign, Ka Hana No'eau and the Ho'ea Agricultural Park.
The project is funded through the Island Innovation Fund of the Hawaii Community Foundation.
