To be considered for the LAND CHAMPION AWARD, individual nominees must have demonstrated all of the following:

Leadership -- The person took initiative to address an issue or issues related to the use and conservation of land or real estate in a community or region, sector, profession, or the province as a whole. He/she demonstrated leadership over a certain time period and/or is continuing to demonstrate leadership.

Innovation -- The person's work was/is innovative. It provides a new way of looking at a land planning/land use/land management/conservation issue and employs a unique solution which can be modeled in other communities.

Collaboration -- The person facilitated the participation of multiple stakeholders and partners to bring one or more projects or programs together. He/she sought community support, and worked/is working with the private and/or public sector to maximize the project or program's effectiveness.

In the first year of the awards program, the Individual Contribution Award was presented to Tim Pringle. Tim retired from the Foundation at the end of October 2010. The award was presented at the Land Awards gala on November 18th.
