Interpol 1980 featured Fayette Hauser, Jeff McGregor, and Chuck Ivey years before the indie band of today. Tagged by Rodney Bingenheimer as L.A.'s New Romantics. Craig Lee with the The L.A. Times describes Fayette as a dramatic actress who embellishes the trio's dreamy songs with theatrical movements. Record World would call them New Wave Dandies.
Feb.8th 1980 Interpol played an international event, the "8th Annual Histocompatibility Convention" in L.A. with Timothy Leary as the emcee.
Turned down an offer to be on Slash Records because the record excecs wanted them to change the name to Ciro.
"A clever band with songs dealing with subjects varying from Valerie Solanas ( the woman who shot Andy Warhol ) to alarm clocks ( " the first humiliation of the day") "..Tom Nixon
