A short tutorial on nuking your personal data using DBAN. Aside from submerging your hard drive in liquid nitrogen, this is the best process to protect your data from thieves when discarding an old hard drive. Here is the process shown in the video:
1. We create a file on the old hard drive. 2. We then remove the hard drive and place it in a different PC and then reformat 3. We run Recuva to demonstrate how the file still can be recovered even after a reformat 4. We run DBAN and nuke the hard drive. 5. We then reboot and run Recuva once again to show the file is no longer present.
