Here I ride Tanner when he is fresh and wanting to play and feeds off buddy. You will see buddy biting and kicking wanting to play and chase Mr. T and I will try and control Mr. T in a way that keeps him focused on me and not Buddy. It does not work and this will demonstrate how other horses can affect what your horse does when you ride. Tanner knows that Buddy is free and is very conflicted on who to pay attention to more, me or buddy. This is not about any horse being mean, it is simple horse behavior and understanding it will help you deal with it better. I also talk about a one-rein stop and show how to slowly go smaller circles with one rein until the horse slows to a stop. A hard yank on one rein will cause a horse to fall and hurt you and yourself and will NOT fix the problem.
