At South Dakota School of Mines & Technology in Rapid City, SD each student was to complete a course with a line following robot created from scratch for the EE351 Mechatronics course. EE351 is a required course for EE, ME, and CENG students at SDSM&T.
For this course, each group of students were given an Arduino, IR sensors, servo motors, and various other components in attempt to have the fastest time on a course with the following operations.
First the robot will start at a perpendicular line, follow a line to a 8"x11" box containing one of three colors (Red, Blue, or Green), sense the color using a photo resistor in combination with RGB LEDs, return down the line to the box containing the color matching the first sensed box, pick up an object, and finally return it to the box behind the start line.
GROUP 17 WAS OUR FASTEST TEAM @ 52s. CONGRATULATIONS!!
The Students in Group 17 are:
Alex Brech, Kamtung Chen, & Eric Husmann
