Setting up touchscreen interfaces for a Raspberry Pi is very easy with the Python framework Kivy.
In the video, the official Raspberry Pi Touchscreen shows three sliders to control the light color of a 3-color-LED with software pulse-width modulation (pwm). The Program is just a few lines of Python/Kivy code.
