The Lakeside Inn was a 4-story, 80 room, luxury hotel in the heart of Lakeside. Bordering Lindo Lake, this hotel was built at the end of 1887 and stood until about 1920. Interestingly enough, they also added the Lakeside Auto Speedway to publicize the town and about a year later, Barney Oldfield won the first race and broke the world land speed record.
