This knock started with the stock 2V NPI engine, I rebuilt it and it still knocked, I completely changed the timing components and it still knocked and this is an entirely new engine, a Mark VIII 4V. As you can hear, the knock remains. The only things that I reused from the 2V was the flywheel, the metal engine to tranny gasket, the starter, the exhaust, and the transmission. My only guess is that the flywheel is hitting the gasket, or the starter is hitting the flywheel. I have placed a stethoscope on the engine and the knock isn't coming from the oil pan or any other part. It's loudest on the bellhousing. I checked the rods and the mains before installing this engine and they weren't loose at all.
