While the Affordable Care Act is narrowing health disparities, much work remains to ensure all Americans have access to quality health care services. The National Health Law Program (NHeLP) hosted an event on May 26, 2016 about the ongoing inequalities in health care and efforts needed to overcome them.
The event included introductory remarks from Elizabeth Taylor, executive director of NHeLP and opening remarks from former U.S. Rep. Donna Christensen and Jocelyn Samuels, director of the Office of Civil Rights for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.
These remarks were followed by a discussion between Daniel E. Dawes, author of 150 years of Obamacare, and Mara Youdelman, managing attorney of the NHeLP D.C. office.
