The new layout was finally reassembled and the DCC finally "tied in". Si I decided to see if I could operate several trains at the same time, on the old layout my personal best was four.

Additionally there is no way to appreciate what else needs to be done until one actually runs the trains. This evolution did show several issues that will need to address. First, I must admit I have been spoiled by the KATO Unitrack system. The stuff is splendid, always in gauge, always fabulous continuity it is tru that for a simple table top layout all you need to do is hook the DCC up with only TWO wires (I digress).

I quickly remembered the amount of "tweaking" and "fiddling with" that cork roadbed and flex-track layouts require...

Since I am a MAJOR OPERATION type of guy That is to say after the third consecutive derailment of car 57 of 80 enough is enough! I redid the the north throat with a double crossover and of course double tracked the whole route

It was SO smooth, the SOUTH throat will be re-laid with KATO switches and the second double-crossover

I also got one of the Athearn N-scale FP-45 with Tsunami sound holy CRAP the potential here.

Aint this a kick butt hobby!
