Jamie's Adventure Blog No.1 Wyrm's Head, Gower (contains scenes of a man in his "natural habitat" *wink wink*).
Stayed overnight on the Wyrm's Head on the Gower in August 2015, with permission of the coatsguard, as I was fishing. Visited the four escarpments and plant-life, fished & caught a crab. Settled down in my tent and was awoken at 2:30 am by a series of intermittent roaring and calls not unlike a wild lion (8:16 Turn volume up). (Filtered sound 8:26) Ideas on what if could be:
- I have discounted wind, it was still, until 6am - I would have expected a continuous noise if it was sea entering the caves - There are no reports of large animals inhabiting the island - I was approx 1 mile from the mainland - The noise came from BEHIND me, therefore on the island. - It had the variation of a wild animal and power of a growl
There is the possibility of it being a bull, deer, seal, wild cat or even a bird. To my ear it was very close to an African Lion...almost impossible in Wales...but Aslan is due for a return series!
