A classified simulation held by the US military chiefs to assess what would happen in the aftermath of an Israeli strike on Iran's nuclear program could lead to heavy US losses. The results of the "Internal Look" wargame suggested that an Israeli attack would only set back Iran's nuclear program by one year, and could lead to a retaliatory attack such as the sinking of a US warship in the Arabian Gulf with the loss of around 200 lives. It also predicted a subsequent US attack would only set back Iran by two years, although Pentagon strategists suggested a full scale attack would push it back further. Sources: NY Times, BBC
