"Wilderness in America: From Conquest to Conservation" is a film about the changing perception of America's land during the last 400 years -- from something to be feared to something to be protected and preserved for future generations. Starting with the first European settlement in 1607 and documenting the changes in public opinion and public policy up to the 50th Anniversary of the signing of the Wilderness Act this film warns of potential neglect while celebrating the foresight and efforts of champions for wilderness in America. And encourages us all to be advocates for wild areas. Run time 54 minutes.
