This clip is part of A&E's 'American Justice' episode examining the case of Dr. Jeffrey MacDonald. In 1979, MacDonald was convicted of murdering his wife, Colette, and their two daughters, Kimberly and Kristen. He continues to claim that a group of Manson-like hippies actually committed the murders.
This segment concerns MacDonald moving to California after the murders and his claims of having tracked down and killed one of the hippie assailants. Included is footage of Freddy and Mildred Kassab discussing the case and of MacDonald explaining his actions.
First, MacDonald defends himself against attacks concerning him getting on with his life; although, I've never heard of anyone actually criticizing him for that. He also attempts to frame his story about murdering one of his attackers as a therapeutic tactic designed to ease the grief of his in-laws.
