Some legal issues are raised here.
The source is M. Agasse of AFP. This was on my Yahoo.fr page when I turned on my computer and some msm stories were there.

If you want to go live in another country (and die there) know the laws, and also, when you hear news stories from around the world, try to understand the legal frameworks, and the cultural ones, for what you are seeing or reading or hearing about. If you travel, have your Last Will and Testament in order, give family members copies of your papers, provide people with full details about where you are likely to go and what you are likely to do, have life insurance, have a funeral plan, and remember, it will cost over 20k USD on average just to repatriate your body. If you are still alive, think of the costs involved!
Sorry to be such a gloomy gus, but I am a former estate planner and registered representative who sold insurance. I have worked as a journalist for decades. I have a legal background on two continents.
I am very disturbed by people who are moving off to Central American countries and elsewhere in the world. Are you prepared to deal with the parasites if you walk barefoot on the beaches there? Do you know what will happen to you if you urinate in the Amazon river while swimming in it? I know many people who died from doing this sort of thing or who suffered years of bad health as a result of their careless travels or relocations.
The tap water when I was a student in Italy made me very sick and I lost my baby, and I was sick the first six months I lived in France from the food, water and foul air in general. I was just looking at a very good channel from Bolivia and she admits if you are new to the area or visiting and eat anything washed or grown in local water, you will get very sick, indeed. I know several people who traveled, caught bugs, and died immediately. Don't be naive!
See the movie JERRY by Gus Van Zant. Even in your own country, if you go for a hike with a friend and don't know what you are doing and haven't told anyone you're going there, the results can be tragic.
