Michael Rainey, AA1TJ, attempts to cross the Atlantic on 20m using his voice powered New England Code Talker transmitter with a whopping 15 milliwatt output signal during the Rexpedition with W1REX, W1PID and AA1MY during the Rexpedition2009! at Uncle Arnie's camp in Alewife Cove in Cape Elizabeth Maine. A speaker inside the can is being used in reverse, so the spoken dots & dashes move the voice coil thereby generating an audio voltage signal. That audio is rectified and filtered to provide the DC power for the transmitter operating in an OOK (ON/OFF) keying mode. No batteries or power input other than the power generated by his voice moving the coil attached to the speaker cone.... Mike tried in vein to make a QSO as his face got redder and redder from all that energy being generated from only his voice...
