Sorry this is almost getting predictable and a bit preachy. I am working on some better stuff, hopefully soon.

One day, in a cave
a man sat with his ass
tied to a couch, sitting slouched
everyday he did things the same way
his home like all the others
worked with his brothers
brought candy to his mother
and he had one lover
as we headed over the cliff
sitting, scared, stiff
with a chain on his arm
ready to kick the farm
no way to save the world
his plans too complicatedly unfurled
too used to electric
not using metric
sitting in his little box
that got smaller and smaller
as outside it got ever hot
as the landfills grew
this man said what can i do
did we open pandoras gifts
and are now unable to live?
well prometheus would have laughed
and hermes saw this and gaffed
he told the man, just pull that lever
to survive, do something else, be clever
and he did, he went out and escaped from his room
free at last, and with him joined a few
the king and those images on the tv
he noticed they were shadows, false as can be
so the man starts getting cocky,
his ego got huge
and he yelled that he knows everything
and that he can teach you,too
This all happened pretty quickly
devolution to being shifty
and with this sudden boast of pride
once more found himself inside
a new pandoras box
this one filled with seven locks
and staring out again, outside
they all knew they can't bide their time
but each one argued, i want more
and took more than they were alloted for
so there was fighting and biting
and yelling and swelling of fists
and the man said once again, he asked the Gods
why did you trust us, give us gifts that'll kill us
the Gods said, the gifts aren't done giving
as humans, you're still learning to be living
the man argued, we're doomed, we're failed
the Gods "you've still got some tricks yet to flail"
And with that they left, but they left a small note
the man picked it up and read what they wrote
Humans aren't flawed, they're not inherently bad
and can live quite richly and well on this land
Though they'll be disagreements, you won't get it all
If we place our priorities we'll be standing tall
Ecology first, without it, no brothers
and gold is of no use when you're being smothered
But ecology's complex and must not be tested
don't use and abuse this world, just respect it
Sure it looks dire, but you can't really go back
just face the reality and deal with the facts.
If you're as wise and as clever in this pinch
there's no reason this challenge should not be a cinch.
