Subscribe: https://MaxCooper.lnk.to/Subscribe For this track, I wanted to bring in some abstract higher-dimensional shapes for the video. They can exist perfectly well theoretically and form an important and useful area of science, yet seem to make no sense whatsoever to our engrained sense of reality. - Hence the name of the track: "Echoes Reality".
The interesting issue is: is our clinging to a 3 spatial-dimensional world just the result of a lifetime of conditioning, or is there an objective reason why there must be 3 spatial dimensions in reality?
Physicists would argue the former, but it's a hard idea to swallow. Perhaps by watching these sorts of videos someone can gain an intuitive feeling for how a 4d shape can really exist, which could be a very useful thing.
The four-dimensional part of this video begins about half way in with the introduction of the 4d cube, represented as a 2 dimensional image of course. It's the strange warping frame structure that comes in about half way through. It appears that it changes shape but it's actually a solid structure, in a four spatial dimensional space at least. But when viewed in two dimensions on screen the panning around the object causes it to warp like that. There are lots more examples of other 4d (and higher dimensional) structures online, this particular class are called hypercubes. It would have been great to have the whole video in 4d, but that would have been really hard to achieve technically, maybe I'll find some way to make that happen some day (Let me know if you can do it!)
Hats off to Graphset for grappling with my impossible demands and coming up with this great piece of work.
