Herbs are the unsung heroes of an edible garden. While most folks fuss and worry about producing a perfectly ripe tomato or ears of sweet, juicy corn, herbs just keep growing, and at harvest time, they make every bite better.
Starting a collection of herbs could not be simpler. Indoors, you can start organic seeds on a windowsill or under a basic grow light. When the threat of frost has passed in the spring, you can plant them in containers outdoors or on the edge of your garden.
